The University of Waterloo Accounting Conference (UWAC) is looking for Executive Coordinators for UWAC 2012!
As the premiere undergraduate accounting conference in the country, UWAC strives to attract the best and brightest accounting and business students from across Canada in order to foster new learning and growth experiences as well as invaluable relationship building opportunities.

Warren Jestin is the Senior Vice-President & Chief Economist with Scotiabank. He has been involved with Scotiabank since 1979. Warren has earned an MA in Economics at the University of Guelph in 1971 and received
his doctorate from the University of Toronto in 1977. Before his work with Scotiabank, Warren has worked with the Bank of Canada and has taught at several universities. Throughout his career, Warren has been an active speaker and media commentator discussing Canadian and world economic issues. In order to keep up to date with the latest economic developments, Warren travels to many parts of the world.

The University of Waterloo DECA (UWDECA) chapter aims to enhance business leadership and employability skills among University of Waterloo students. Composed of dynamic and enthusiastic individuals, its members develop and improve on their analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills by participating in challenging case studies. We strive to foster a positive and competitive team culture, while transforming our members into the future leaders of tomorrow.
UWDECA is currently looking for Senior Executives to join the team for the upcoming DECA year. Senior Executives will be responsible for the planning and execution of the club’s operations and events. This includes but is not limited to fundraisers, merchandise, social events, training sessions and the annual Spring Invitational hosted by Waterloo DECA.

The School of Accounting and Finance is organizing a series of eight Finance Workshops in the spring 2011 term for upper year students in the BAFM, BCFM, Math-CA and Science-CA programs.
These sessions will bring the perspective of a successful industry professional to the
classroom and will complement the material that you have learned from the core finance courses. The workshops will provide a glimpse into the concepts and tools actively used in the investment industry. The aim of these workshops is to complement your academic work by helping you to apply your knowledge in a way that develops your ability to use the “tools of the trade”. Completion of the workshops and articulation of the skills you practiced will be impressive contributions to your résumé. The sessions will also provide an introduction to topics that can be explored in further detail at graduate level studies and/or in the CFA program.
No preparation is required and no take-home work will be assigned.
Registration for the first four workshops can be found below. Registration for sessions 5-6 and 7-8 will take place at a later date.
The workshops will be conducted by Mohsin Bashir, Associate Portfolio Manager and Chief Compliance Officer at Highwater Capital Management. Each session will be held from 6 pm–9 pm on the following Wednesdays in HH (room TBD).
